Chrysler – We’re open – no wait, we’re closed

Chrysler has announced that they are shutting down the St. Louis truck plant, a week after they announced they were opening it. Awesome planning.

DETROIT — One week after announcing it would open the St. Louis Dodge Ram plant, Chrysler Group LLC said today that it would idle the plant July 10 and keep it closed “contingent upon volumes.”

The Ram factory in Fenton, Mo., will open June 29 as scheduled, along with six other Chrysler plants. But Chrysler will close the plant before the summer shutdown starts and work “with the UAW to address the manpower implications in a socially responsible manner,” the company said today in a statement.

The heading above is a little bit of fun I have had with the various translation tools available on the internet. The sentence started as “General Motors is bankrupt just like the other car company, Dodge. ” With the magic of the internets and auto bots, when we translate that back to Engrish we get “General motor is messed up just as the other company car, dribbling.”

Things like this make me laugh. Out loud even. No wonder the planet has such a hard time getting along….. nobody understands what the other is saying.

Dodge trucks are tougher than traffic lights

The driver hit the left turn light and sheared off the light post ?at the base, and then kept driving on about 2 miles to Squires Four Pub, where he stopped for more beer!! How impaired do you have to be to NOT notice that you are carrying a stop light? ?( I Wonder if the light was green? )The truck was towed about 2.5 miles to the Vernon towing yard, with the light still pinched between the two tow hooks and the bumper bent around it

It took several good hard pulls with a backhoe to get the pole free.

The kind folks at C&D have coined the word “perb” to describe the Dodge Dakota, as in the opposite of “superb”. What do they want for $37,000?

Who has one of these trucks and what do you think of it? What mods have you made? Is there any particular change that really made the 4.7 V8 come to life?
